Scottish Fresh Talent Scheme

Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme

International students now have an opportunity to apply for leave to enter or remain in Scotland for two years after their graduation.

This will provide international graduates with the opportunity to work in Scotland after they have completed their studies.

Please note that the Scottish Executive does not employ agents to work on their behalf, and they would advise any potential applicants to the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme to make their applications either through the Home Office (in the UK) or UK Visas (overseas).

You do not need an offer of employment. You only have to prove it is your intention to work in Scotland and have sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependants while looking for employment.

Application forms for the scheme are available from the Home Office website (go to 'All forms' and scroll down to: FLR (FT: WISS))

Applications should be submitted along with the original degree certificate and other documents outlined on the application form.

If you have completed your course of study and are awaiting graduation you can submit your application in advance of your graduation ceremony as long as you have a letter from your supervisor or tutor (on University headed paper) confirming your situation.

Important: If you have returned to your home country after graduation you should apply to the nearest British Embassy or High Commission using the normal application form for entry to the UK (Form VAF1) not the FLR (FT: WISS) form.
